- Each individual cabin has solar panels on the roof to power the lights and heat showers
- A strict no-single-use-plastic policy is in place for both staff and guests
- A fully vegetarian and vegan menu is available for guests, and many herbs and vegetables are grown on-site in greenhouses and in the kitchen garden
- All artwork around the hotel comes from a local, non-profit women's cooperative
- The hotel only employs native Costa Ricans, supporting local communities and families
